When SWAP is in effect: expect reroutes, call clearance/ground 5–10 min before engine start (KHPN ATIS will say so), keep CPDLC/PDC loaded, and have escape-route fuel. Monitor ZNY SWAP and route advisories for CDRs and playbook routes (National Playbook).
Options in rough order: accept EDCT · file a CDR / playbook route · change departure fix or altitude (tower en-route) · retime the trip · reposition to a non-SWAP airport (SWF, BDR, DXR, OXC) · discuss options with the ATCSCC via your flight-plan provider.
Shift Briefing for NY TRACON
After hours or during rapidly changing weather this briefing may not reflect the latest information. It does not replace a pilot pre-flight briefing.
